Most baby food only contains a handful of ingredients and is pretty easy to make. My wife purchased a baby food recipe book before we had our first child and would freeze purees made with organic strawberries, peaches, pears, peas, and other fruits or vegetables. The process was fun and we also felt good about it.

If you’re starting a baby food brand of your own, you can start by testing ideas in your home kitchen. That’s what my wife and I did with our babies. While we never turned this practice into a business, it would be one of the simpler food businesses to get into from a manufacturing standpoint.
