Once only found in the classiest of restaurants or wine bars, charcuterie has gone mainstream to become one of the most popular types of food shared on social media. At my house, I put together some type of board almost every Sunday during football games. I’ve gotten pretty good at keeping wide range of ingredients in the pantry and fridge to spontaneously assemble board from dried fruit like apricots and raisins to pretzels, olives, cheeses, and meats. Pretty much anything goes on my boards depending on the week!

Evidently the charcuterie board got even more popular during the pandemic with many butcher shop and grocery stores producing their own ‘ready-to-eat’ charcuterie packs. And with more consumers discovering a trend that got its start in the 15th-century, charcuterie is making an unexpected comeback thanks in part to social media sharing.
