I’ve been podcasting since 2013 and built a back catalog of more than 125 episodes in the process. Back when I hit the record button on GarageBand for Mac for my first episode, the concept having a podcast was a pretty new idea. But not anymore. Now, just about every D-level celebrity, comedian, subject matter expert or influencer has one.

Another change in the podcast industry since I started is that audio has captured the attention of big media companies. For example, Spotify purchased a podcast monetization company for $235 million. Apple, SiriusXM, and iHeartMedia have all made similar moves by acquiring other companies in the podcast space. Now, every radio station and major television programs like CNBC have companion podcasts too.

If you’re working to come up with a marketing slogan or tagline for your own podcast, I’m here to help. Having the right podcast tagline will help you grow by attracting your desired tribe. I’ve organized more than 155+ quotes and taglines you can use to help promote a podcast. Let’s do this.

Podcast Quotes and Taglines.

“The beautiful thing about podcasting is it’s just talking. It can be funny, or it can be terrifying. It can be sweet. It can be obnoxious. It almost has no definitive form. In that sense it’s one of the best ways to explore an idea, and certainly much less limiting than trying to express the same idea in stand up comedy. For some ideas stand up is best, but it’s really, really nice to have podcasts as well.” — Joe Rogan

“The medium of podcasting and the personal nature of it, the relationship you build with your listeners and the relationship they have with you – they could be just sitting there, chuckling and listening… there’s nothing like that.” — Marc Maron

“Podcasting might be thought of as a form of academic gift.” — Les Back

“Podcasting has become one of the fastest and trusted tools/channels for building and promoting brands.” ― Bernard Kelvin Clive

“I like the freedom of podcasting. With podcasting you can really mess around with the form and the format. You can do as much time as you like without having to pause for commercials.” — Adam Carolla

“Podcasting is great. Total freedom.” — Bill Burr

“How has podcasting changed things? A lot of people ask me if I feel I should be more famous.”  — Paul F. Tompkins

“I think right now there’s more TV shows than ever. You’ve got network, you’ve got cable, you’ve got Netflix, you’ve got Hulu, even Amazon is putting out original content. So there’s a lot of opportunities to find fans. You don’t have to have a huge audience. You can cater to the people that like your stuff. So there is a boom in comedy and television and stand-up too through podcasting and all the different talk shows.” — Hannibal Buress

“I’d tell anyone who wants to be a podcaster, the same thing others have recommended – find a niche you’re passionate about and willing to be immersed in.” ― Sandra Sealy, Chronicles Of A Seawoman: A Collection Of Poems

What is a tagline for a podcast?

Podcasting is an on-demand technology.

Podcasting is an on-demand technology.

A podcast tagline is an imperative element of your brand. After the title, this is what introduces listeners to the show. Your tagline helps them decide if they should read your description, skim your episode titles, and click the play button. So make it memorable and catchy!

Brands often include a tagline and these can come in a variety of sizes and forms; they can be long or short, simple or cryptic. If you’re trying to conjure up a good tagline for your brand, it should intrigue the listeners to want more.

The perfect formula for making a tagline would include the content of your show and target audience. Looking at some of the taglines from popular podcasts is also a good place to start. Search and analyze other show’s taglines. Additional examples can also be found from the list “Examples of Podcast Taglines” above.

Do podcasts have taglines?

Most popular podcast will utilize a tagline to help explain the subject of their show. My podcast has always been about how to start or grow a food business and it’s been downloaded more than 250,000 times since I started. My podcast tagline is “How to Start or Grow a More Profitable Food Business.” This tagline helps me attract listeners that want to start or improve any type of food business, including food trucks, restaurants, or catering companies.

Podcasters can develop their brand by coming up with a good show title, cover art, and tagline. These elements help listeners identify the show’s brand. To make a podcast memorable, podcasters may use taglines, hooks, and slogans. Taglines give concise information about the meaning of a title, the content of the show, or the podcast’s mission. Podcast taglines are commonly placed in the introduction of every episode or the cover art.

Every podcaster aims to get as many people as possible to press play and listen to their show.  If the tagline is memorable enough, it can leave a great impression on the audiences they are trying to reach.

I believe podcasting will continue to grow in popularity so you’re not too late to the party to get started now. This format of content fits into our hectic lifestyles and can be enjoyed during a workout, riding on a bus, driving in a car, or even while at work. people are also turning to different forms of content to consume.

Video is a powerful medium I’d love to explore as well, but it’s not as easy to produce as podcasting. Many of us don’t have time to sit down and read a full length book, but we can listen to podcasts in bite-sized chunks to understand a concept.

Finally, podcasting is a media that builds strong connections between the podcaster and listening audience. Long-time listeners will feel like they know you personally. This level of connection and trust makes starting a podcast a powerful tool to consider.
