How To Name Your Organic Food Business

Waiting for inspiration…

If none of the above name ideas quite work from you, then here are some tips on how to brainstorm your own organic food business name ideas. The first step is to write down as many words or concepts around your business as possible. The more words and phrases you can think of in this stage, the easier naming your business will be. Think of things like:

  • Your location
  • The benefits of organic food
  • Wellbeing
  • The type of organic food or food product you offer
  • The personality of your business
  • The type of customer you want to attract

Once you have jotted down as many words and phrases as possible for your business, the food you will make, and what you want to convey the next stage is to piece these together. Write down as many business name ideas that come together when you look at the list. Even if the idea is not quite there, write it down and it might come to you later.

Learn More: How to Make a Sell Sheet for Your Food Business

Now, put the list aside and come back to it tomorrow with fresh eyes. Your subconscious will have time to think over what you want to convey and have a much stronger sense of brand identity. When you look at the list, you will have a better idea of which ones speak to you.

No matter what type of organic food company you are planning to start, you need to make sure you have a standout name that creates curiosity and buzz for your business. First, you need to come up with a business name that articulates an organic or wellness-focused business. Another strategy is to find a a quirky or local name to associate with the business.

Whittle the list of name ideas down to ten or less and then run them by a carefully selected jury of family and friends. If you pick friends who fit your target market, even better! They will be able to tell you what speaks to them and what doesn’t. They might even have some cool name ideas that you haven’t thought of. Take their opinions as advice; it is prudent to listen to their thoughts, but you are the business owner and have the final decision.
