Let your manager know how grateful you are for their leadership and mentorship. If you happen to have a terrible boss right now, not to worry. I used to have a team lead who took credit for anything positive and blamed employees all shortcomings. It was a sad situation really.

But the experience also helped me appreciate when I did find a good manager in a future role. If you have a bad boss right now, it helps to understand that this job is a temporary situation. Eventually, you will find a better role if you look for it.
