Here are some of the cold-hard facts about loneliness and depression.

  • In a survey done by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM), more than a third of adults aged 45 and older feel lonely. Around one-fourth of adults aged 65 and older feel isolated socially.
