I grew up in a Catholic family. As such, we were always saying our prayers before meals, before going to bed, and even before driving off – even when we were just visiting my grandma’s house a few blocks from ours. You get it. Our life revolved around prayers. Early on, our parents told us the importance of prayers and what miracles they can bring to our lives. And I’ve brought this learning to my own family.

Whether it’s physical, emotional, or financial stress, I’ve always said my prayers and somehow, they actually work. Luke 12:34 – “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

My Lord, thank you for the blessings you have bestowed upon me. Please lead me to the right path so that I can be a blessing to my neighbors. Make my heart see the need of others so that I can unselfishly go to them and share with them Your blessings. This I ask in Jesus’ name, amen.

Philippians 4:19 – “ And my God shall meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”

Lord, thank you for giving me light to know that You are there for me, to provide me with what I need. I am helpless without you. I don’t need money. All I need is Your unending love.

Matthew 19:21 –“Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.””

My Father, show me the way so that I can be of help to others. Thank you for your wisdom.

How Do You Pray When you Need Money?

Here’s my approach to speaking to God. You don’t need to do it this exact way, however. The Bible says everyone has direct access to speak with the creator. How cool is that?

In praying to God for money or for whatever reason I could have, I have to first acknowledge and address God as the Heavenly Father, the God and Creator of all, after which I thank Him for the blessings I have received from Him. After

After addressing the Creator that He is the God from Heaven and thanking Him for His goodness, I can already ask God for help. It’s in this part wherein I ask God, humbly and with a trusting heart, my petition and why I am asking for it. I will close the prayer by bringing my petition to God in Jesus’ name since Jesus has said that “whatever you ask the Father in my name He will give you.” I will end the prayer by saying “in Jesus’ name, Amen”.

Whoever said that life doesn’t revolve around money must have a billion dollars in his safe. In this cruel world, as unpredictable as life can be, we never know whether we’ll wake up tomorrow with a thousand dollars gift check from someone or a thousand-dollar debt that needs to be paid.

Either way, if you are ever in need of financial support and have exhausted all possible help you can get, there’s no better option to turn to than prayer. God understands that you need an income that can supports your life and covers food and shelter. Even in Biblical times, people have struggled with making a living and supporting their family. The Bible offers lots of guidance on this particular life topic.
