The LGBTQ+, an acronym term representing the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (the + represents new variants) community have fought hard to gain equal rights for decades and are now recognized throughout the world. Important Dates for the LGBT Community
Each June marks LGBT pride / Gay pride month. The celebration held in June to remember the 1969 Stonewall riots in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan that were spurred by police raids. This event is considered a turning point in the gay liberation movement and brought the topic of sexuality to the forefront of American culture.
