When someone you care about has experienced a loss, the best way to show your support and condolences is by sending them words of comfort. The key here is not to focus too much on why it’s hard for you personally attend; just offer what help or encouragement possible without being invasive into their personal space during this difficult time in killed person’s life. This is especially true if the funeral is for a co-worker or close friend.
