Does Texas Roadhouse take reservations?

Unfortunately, Texas Roadhouse doesn’t offer reservations but don’t worry because they have an alternative. You can use call-ahead seating to put your group on a waitlist before arrival. As a result, you can shorten the wait for a table. To use call-ahead seating, customers can phone the restaurant up to an hour before arrival and request to be added to the waitlist in order. In addition, you can also join the waitlist by going online or by downloading the Texas Roadhouse Mobile App. Groups up to six in your can reserve a table on the waitlist.

Do you remember your first time at Texas Roadhouse?

Keep in mind, you won’t be able to select the exact table you want. Instead, it’s a precaution to prevent the restaurant from giving away a table you could have reserved while you’re still on the way there. Due to how busy Texas Roadhouse can get on the weekends you need to use the waitlist system you might still find yourself waiting for a table for 30 to 45 minutes. I’ve done it before. But it beats the alternative of waiting even longer. 

Does Texas Roadhouse accept Apple Pay as Payment?

Are you in your favorite restaurant, and halfway into your meal, you realize you left your wallet at home? Then don’t worry because Texas Roadhouse accepts Apple Pay. Using your iPhone or Apple Watch, you can securely pay for the entire families meal. Does Texas Roadhouse deliver?

Sadly, Texas Roadhouse does not provide direct delivery using in-house drivers through any of its locations. Whether you place your order over the phone or online, however they offer a To-Go option offering curbside pickup.

Texas Roadhouse uses 100% refined soybean oil whenever they are cooking.

Not only does it serve free and unlimited rolls, Texas Roadhouse also offers free buckets of peanuts in the shell at every table and the bar. Because of this, people with peanut allergies are curious if this also means that the restaurant uses peanut oil to cook and prepare food. But don’t worry, they use soybean oil for cooking instead.

How does Texas Roadhouse compare to other steakhouse competitors in terms of cost, ambiance, and taste? Here’s my in-depth analysis. 

Texas Roadhouse vs. Outback

Price Difference: Texas Roadhouse’s early bird discounts are $10.99, while regular priced dinners range from $14 to $20. The average Outback customer spends $20 or more per visit. So if you want to fill up on your favorite steak dish for less, Texas Roadhouse is the more affordable destination on average.

Atmosphere and Ambiance: Texas Roadhouse, the most popular steakhouse in the United States, is known for its boisterous, lively atmosphere. With blaring country music and a family-friendly environment this may not be the ideal spot for a romantic dinner, but it’s perfect for a fun night out with friends or family.

On the other hand, Outback Steakhouse offers a more subdued, Australian-themed ambiance that doesn’t go overboard with gimmicks. Instead, you’ll find tasteful maps, artwork, and subtle decorations, making it a more suitable choice for a quieter meal.

Steaks Comparison: Both steakhouses offer porterhouse steaks with Texas Roadhouse serving a 23-ounce steak for $33.99. Outback Steakhouse’s offers a 22-ounce Melbourne Porterhouse is a mouth-watering, juicy cut of steak that is sure to please even the most discerning steak lover. These steaks are comparable. 

Side Dishes: Texas Roadhouse is known for their legendary rolls with cinnamon-honey butter but falls short with its baked potato, which has unmelted cheese and chewy bacon. Outback Steakhouse impresses with its baked potato and Brussels sprouts, featuring crispy skin, perfectly melted cheese, and a premium presentation in mini cast-iron pans. I prefer the baked potato at Outback. 

In the battle of Texas Roadhouse vs. Outback Steakhouse, it’s clear that both chains deliver steak dinners at an affordable price. My opinion: My family dines at Texas Roadhouse on a regular basis. My kids enjoy the loud atmosphere and the free rolls. Texas Roadhouse is also one of the most affordable steakhouse options out there. 

Texas Roadhouse vs. Ruth Chris

Even though these are both steakhouses chains, they couldn’t be more different in terms of price, ambiance, and clientele.

Price Difference: The most striking difference between Ruth’s Chris Steak House and Texas Roadhouse are the menu prices. When you dine at Ruth’s Chris, you can expect to pay more than $100 for a party of two. In contrast, Texas Roadhouse is a more budget-friendly and casual option with affordable pricing like the eight-ounce filet mignon and two side dishes for $23. My family of four will regularly dine here for under $100. 

Atmosphere and Ambiance: Ruth’s Chris is a destination with impeccable service that’s a go-to for special occasions like a birthday or anniversary. If you have special dietary request or want to make off-menu customizations to your meal than Ruth’s Chris is the clear option. The impeccable service and sophisticated ambiance make for a once-in-a-lifetime dinner out. On the flip side, Texas Roadhouse is a fantastic place to take the kids or a large group of friends for a casual meal.

Steaks Comparison: Ruth’s Chris offers high-quality cuts of meat seared in savory butter and served on a sizzling hot plate. The rich flavor and tenderness of their steaks make them a favorite among steak lovers. While the cuts of meat at Texas Roadhouse may not be as premium as those at Ruth’s Chris, the steaks are still well-seasoned and cooked to perfection offering a satisfying meal at a more digestable price point.

Side Dishes: Both restaurants offer a variety of side dishes to complement their steaks. Ruth’s Chris is known for consistently delicious options such as sweet potato casserole and shrimp dishes, adding to the overall fine dining experience. Bottom line it’s difficult to compare these two steakhouse chains. If you’re looking for an upscale dining experience with with hand-cut steaks that are aged to perfect go with Ruth’s Chris. If you’re a family with little kids looking for a place to hang out and get loud, go to Texas Roadhouse.

Ask for a “Texas Roadhouse salad” instead of a regular salad. The Texas Roadhouse salad is made with fresh greens, grilled chicken, bacon, tomatoes, cucumbers, and cheddar cheese. This salad is also tossed in a delicious ranch dressing.
