Known for their always-satisfying pancakes, omelettes and sandwiches since 1958, IHOP continues to be one of America’s favorite restaurants for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There’s something for almost everyone at IHOP.

Which is cheaper, IHOP or Denny’s?

When it comes to dining out for breakfast, IHOP and Denny’s are two of the most popular options for Americans. But which is cheaper? After researching menus and prices, it appears that Denny’s is slightly less expensive than IHOP. However, the difference in price may not be significant enough to sway your dining preference. To illustrate, here are 3 similar menu items to compare between these two diner chains:

Menu item

IHOP price Denny’s price

Price difference

T-Bone Steak & Eggs $18.99 $17.62 $1.37 (7.2% difference)
Sirloin Steak Tips & Eggs $18.99 $13.54 $5.45 (28.7% difference)
Hash Browns $5.49 $3.94 $1.55 (28.2% difference)

Other than the Sirloin Steak Tips & Eggs, which is a bit of an outlier in terms of pricing, the average difference between the menu items is $1.46, that’s roughly an average of 7% difference between the 2 menu items.

While both restaurants offer similar menus and prices, individual locations may differ in terms of pricing for certain dishes. So, next time you’re in the mood for pancakes or eggs, consider the price difference between IHOP and Denny’s, but don’t forget to weigh in other factors like taste, convenience, and discounts as well.

What meal has the most calories at IHOP?

The meal with the most calories at IHOP is the Country Fried Steak & Eggs combo, which comes in at a whopping 1,760 calories. This dish includes a breaded and fried steak smothered in gravy, two eggs cooked to order, and a serving of hash browns.

Country fried steak with gravy is a high-calorie dish because it is made with ingredients that are high in fat and calories. The steak itself is coated in a batter made with flour, eggs, and milk, which all add calories. The gravy is also typically made with butter or oil, adding even more calories. Finally, the dish is often served with a side of has browns and eggs that you guessed it… further contribute to the calories in the menu item.

What IHOP omelette has the most protein?

Order omeletts at IHOP.

If you’re looking for the omelette with the most protein, look no further than the Chicken Fajita Omelette with a whopping 74 g of protein.

Made with grilled chicken breast, peppers and onions, and topped with avocado and Cheddar cheese this omelette will not only satisfy your taste buds, but also give you the nutrients you need to start your day off right. So next time you’re at IHOP, give the Chicken Fajita Omelette a try and feel the difference in your energy levels.

Why do IHOP Eggs Taste Different?

Have you ever noticed that the eggs at IHOP taste different? It’s not your imagination. The secret behind their unique flavor is pancake batter. That’s right, IHOP adds a scoop of pancake batter to their egg mixture giving them a slightly sweet and fluffy texture. This ingredient gives the eggs added structure, which increases their stability. Second, the additional moisture results in a fluffier final product. Finally, it enhances the pancake flavor.

This technique is not new, and has been used for years in diners across America. But IHOP has mastered the art of incorporating pancake batter into their eggs without overpowering the flavor or changing the consistency.

How many calories are in IHOP to get syrup?

IHOP is famous for their delicious pancakes, but have you ever wondered how many calories are hidden in that sweet, gooey syrup? The answer may surprise you. An average serving of syrup at IHOP contains approximately 200 calories. This may not sound like much, but imagine pouring that syrup all over your pancakes, waffles, or French toast. It all adds up! Suddenly, your breakfast could contain an additional 400 – 600 calories, depending on what you order and how much syrup you decide to add.

What is a 2x2x2 at IHOP?

2x2x2 for $5.

If you’re looking for a breakfast option that’s both delicious and filling, the 2x2x2 at IHOP is worth evaluating for only $5. So what is it exactly? Essentially, it’s a meal that includes two pancakes, two bacon strips, and two eggs (cooked any way you like them). All of these components combine to create the ultimate breakfast trifecta.

Whether you’re looking for a quick breakfast to start your day or a satisfying brunch meal, the 2x2x2 is a classic choice that never disappoints. Make sure to check to make sure this deal is still available for $5. This promotional offer returned to the menu in September, 2022.

Does IHOP serve alcohol?

Yes or no. Alcohol service varies from location to location, as each IHOP is franchised and can make independent decisions on whether or not to have a bar. So, while some IHOPs do serve alcohol, others do not. For those that do offer alcohol, you can order a mimosa in the morning with brunch.

What are the hours of operation for IHOP?

Does IHOP have a secret menu?

cinn-a-stacks

IHOP has a secret menu. Here’s a sample of some of IHOP’s secret menu we’ve gathered from the internet research and a few TikTok videos.

1. Cinn-A-Stacks – The removal of Cinn-A-Stacks from the standard menu by iHop upset customers. However, you may still get the delectable food, so do not worry. The cinnamon sauce used on the Cinn-A-Stack is also utilized on their Cinnamon Swirl French Toast.

Get the buttermilk pancakes from iHop with the cinnamon spread to satisfy your yearning for a Cinn-A-Stack. A specialized item can be made as long as the cook and server are both familiar with the recipe.

The simplest secret menu item on the list! The server will warm up your preferred IHOP syrup taste. It really is that simple and no secret.

3. Spinach and Asparagus Risotto – The following IHOP hidden menu item will make you feel like you’re on vacation in Italy. Risotto with asparagus and spinach. This dish is most definitely not what you would anticipate from a place known for its buttermilk pancakes. For fans of Italian cuisine, a delightful treat.

Do Kids Still Eat Free at IHOP?

Many parents have been wondering if their kids still eat for free at IHOP. The answer is yes! Kids under 12 years old can still enjoy a free meal at IHOP with the purchase of an adult entrée from 4 p.m. – 10 p.m. each day of the week. Your child must select an item from the kid’s menu to qualify for this offer. This means that families can come together and enjoy a hearty breakfast without breaking the bank.

Does IHOP have Happy Hour Specials?

Entrees starting at $6: These include the Chicken & Pancakes (four buttermilk crispy chicken breast strips & three buttermilk pancakes), Classic Steakburger (All-natural, Black Angus steakburger with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles & IHOP® Sauce), Buttermilk Crispy Chicken Sandwich, BLT Sandwich, Ham & Cheese Omelette, Quick 2-Egg Breakfast, and Classic Breakfast Burrito or Bowl. This is available for dine-in only).

What is the IHOP sauce?

IHOP Sauce is a sweet and tangy sauce that is made with honey mustard, mayonnaise, and a variety of spices. It is a versatile sauce that can be used on a variety of dishes, including chicken, waffles, and french fries.

The flavor of IHOP Sauce is a bit like a cross between honey mustard and ranch dressing. It is sweet and tangy, with a hint of spice. The sauce is also creamy, thanks to the mayonnaise.

What type of cooking oil does IHOP use?

If you’ve ever dined at IHOP and wondered what type of cooking oil they use to create their dishes, the answer is highly refined soybean oil. This popular type of oil is known for its neutral taste and ability to withstand high heat, making it a go-to choice for many restaurants. Soybean oil is low-cost and does not contain unwanted flavors or aromas that can change the taste of a meal.

Did IHOP Menu Prices get more expensive?

Unfortunately, IHOP franchisees have raised prices to accommodate inflation in commodities and labor in 2022. For the second half of 2022, the breakfast chain expected commodity inflation ease to the mid-teens for IHOP.

According to an article on Nation’s Restaurant News, Dine Brands Global Inc., the parent company of IHOP has been cautious about price increases viewing it as a competitive advantage for increasing market share.

John Peyton, Dine Brands CEO, mentioned during an earnings call that their restaurant brands experienced a 22% rise in commodity costs during the second quarter. However, Dine’s P&L was not materially impacted due to their asset-light model.

While April and May were strong for IHOP, the brand did experience a “modest decline in traffic” in June amid consumer inflation and gasoline price pressures. However, IHOP’s domestic system-wide same-restaurant sales increased by 1.1% in the fourth quarter of 2022 and by 14.8% for the full fiscal year 2022. The company’s total revenues for the fourth quarter were $242.2 million, a 10.1% increase from the same period in the previous year. For the full year, total revenues were $925.9 million, a 12.8% increase from 2021.

While prices have been bumped up at IHOP the past few years, IHOP seems determined to remain an affordable dining option.
