Where was Captain D’s founded?

Captain D’s was founded in Donelson, Tennessee, United States, in 1969. Initially, the restaurant was launched as “Mr. D’s” in 1969 in Donelson, Tennessee, by Raymond L. Danner Sr. The original concept of the restaurant was to offer quality quick-serve seafood at affordable prices, which was somewhat novel at the time as most fast-food chains primarily offered burgers.

In 1974, the company rebranded as “Captain D’s Seafood” to underscore its emphasis on seafood. The company utilized a nautical theme for its branding, including the name change to “Captain D’s” and the use of a logo that features a stylized ship’s helm.
