This request is similar to Super Sizing an order at McDonald’s. At Bojangles, they call it “Bo size” which basically means upgrading your side item or drink to a bigger size than the original ones. This is something I personally do whenever I order at Bojangles.

What’s also great about Bojangles is that they serve unique choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There are many Bojangles locations that open as early as 5 a.m. These are very different hours of operation compared to KFC that usually won’t open until 11 a.m. The day is half gone by that time!

Does Bojangles have a secret menu?

There is no official secret menu at Bojangles. Because there are literally no secret menu items, super fans of the chain have developed their own list of menu hacks. Here are some of the creative menu items diners have come up with.

The ultimate Cajun Breakfast Biscuit – In this menu hack you order a Cajun Filet Biscuit with a side of bacon, egg, cheese. Then you put all the ingredients into the biscuit. Your simple Cajun Breakfast Biscuit becomes a hearty breakfast meal that will keep you full until lunch rolls around. 

The Dirty Bird – This one is a combination of Bojangles’ Cajun Filet Club Sandwich and the Picnic Dirty Rice. What you want to do is order the Cajun Filet Club Sandwich and a side of dirty rice. Spread the rice onto the sandwich, put together the buns, and enjoy. Although this one’s quite messy to eat, I promise you, it is all worth the trouble. 

The Uva – The Uva is a Cajun filet with pimento cheese on top of a Bo-Berry biscuit. It was named after a news reporter in South Carolina who got her order by mistake. If you enjoy pimento spreads then this menu hack is worth trying.

The small beginnings of Bojangles started in Charlotte, North Carolina when it was founded by Richard Thomas and Jack Fulk in 1977. 

In 1981, Jack Fulk sold the Bojangles concept to Horn & Hardart which started the growth of Bojangles as it expanded to 335 restaurants. Some say that Bojangles became famous when Carolinas was struck with Hurricane Hugo, forcing almost all fast food restaurants to close, except for Bojangles. As of 2023, there are 807 Bojangles restaurants in the United States.

Are there any vegan-friendly menu items at Bojangles?

Bojangles has a limited number of vegan friendly menu items including Grits, Green Beans, Cajun Pinto Beans, the Garden Salad, Ken’s Fat-Free Italian Dressing, and BBQ sauce. No more, no less. While there aren’t many vegan friendly items to eat, there are plenty of beverages you can enjoy. And I mean, a lot.

What most vegans love in these vegan-friendly options is the grits that are creamy and delicious. Another fan favorite is the green beans. For the green salad, make sure to ask them to remove the cheese and enjoy them with Ken’s Fat Free Italian Dressing. 

Are Bojangles fries vegan?

Sadly, Bojangles’ fries are not vegan. They are fried using beef fat and canola oil and are made with beef tallow, blue cheese dressing, and Worcestershire sauce. Although Bojangles’ fries are good, they are not good for vegans. 

Are there any 2 for $5 Deals at Bojangles?

In May 2023, you can get 2 country ham biscuits for only $5. This menu item is a fluffy buttermilk biscuit filled with slices of flavorful country ham, creating a delicious blend of salty and buttery flavors that make for a satisfying breakfast or snack option.

Bojangles switches up their promotional 2 for $5 deal every month or so. In 2018, Bojangles announced a 2-for $5 deal where you can get two Cajun Filet Biscuits and pay only $5.

How to get a free Bo’s Chicken Sandwich

If you download the Bojangles app, you’ll get a free Bo’s Chicken Sandwich when you place the first order through the app. The regular menu price for the Bo’s Chicken Sandwich is $3.99.

The Bo’s Chicken Sandwich features a juicy and seasoned chicken breast filet, served on a toasted bun with crisp lettuce, tangy mayo, and pickles, delivering a delicious combination of flavors and textures.

Does Bojangles offer senior or student discounts? 

There are no senior discounts at Bojangles. There are no student discounts either. Select Bojangles locations do offer a 10% military discount to active service members and veterans with a valid ID, but make sure to confirm this before ordering. The chain will also offer a deal to members of the military on Veteran’s Day (November 11th). One year the chain offered a free Cajun Filet Combo as a way to recognize our military men and women.
