$12,500 located in Nashville, TN
This 1968 vintage baby has been my heart…but now it’s time for me to turn the page and sell her. I have affectionately called her ”Pearl” and she has always been a worker. Originally the International Harvester ”Metro Mite” step vans were designed as delivery and stop and go step vans for the U.S. Marine Corp. I have used her as a mobile art studio selling art projects to make on the spot as a pop up business at festivals and farmers markets for almost 3 years. Here is a list of everything that I have done to the van: Please email me at artmovesvan@gmail.com with any questions. 615-397-2238
This is a 1968 M-800 Metro Mite by International Harvester (also made the Travelall and the Scout)
Garage kept in dry storage
93,000 miles on odometer
Original engine but good shape – It’s an automatic transmission/unleaded gasoline
Brand new Transmission. New radiator. New fuel pump.New alternator.
new electrical – new upgraded amp service with power inverter with extra battery and plugs for your cooler or your lights or whatever you need to plug in.
all new paint inside and out – I have the paint numbers/brands for records.
Underbody is rubber coated, tires in good shape. Original seat with seat belt was recovered with ”marine” grade leather. The tires in good shape. New interior gauges on dashboard – rebuilt the blinker/turn signals. All new exterior rear lights, back up lights with LED lights.
All new back bumper reinforced with diamond plate and diamond plate at floor boards on drivers and passenger entry.
Gas tank has been removed, acid bath cleaned and then the interior was ”candy coated”
steering column gear shaft and gear box was completely rebuilt.
all new custom safety glass in all windows/windshield rear windows with new custom gasket window ”trim. Custom awning system with ”sunbrella” red fabric/custom awnings.
The exterior dimensions are: 14 feet long x 8’ tall x (just shy of) and 6’ wide
interior measurements:
The cargo area is 70”wide by 7’6” long (from back doors to just behind the driver’s seat and side to side)
When you are inside in the back of the van the height from floor to ceiling is 5’6”
Clean clear title
I have priced it to allow you room for transport to wherever you are…and I also think the next step I would have taken would be to put a NEW standard Chevy engine in it. The speed tops out at about 40mph…so no freeways. I looked into to…and the engine would probably run about $4500. I had just paid about that for the new transmission so I wasn’t able to add the engine. Although it runs well, it is still the original engine. In a small community…like a beach town or a neighborhood you could get around in side streets and move at her pace. But if you want to really move around town you will need a new engine. Everything else is pretty much done on the van….just need someone to take it to the next level. This is a rare vehicle…the ”Metro Mite” version of this van was only made from 1959-1970 so this is one of the latest model versions of this vintage and now ”extinct” vehicles.
seeking serious inquiries only please….Thank you,
